Puppy Referrals

HVGRC offers Puppy Referral services to individuals and families looking for a quality golden. Buying a Golden Retriever is a lifelong commitment and not an impulse decision. Our puppy referral volunteers will be happy to give you more information about purchasing a Golden Retriever from a reputable breeder. Please remember to give the puppy referral volunteer a few days to respond to your inquiry as they may be out at a dog show, on vacation, at work, or just involved with personal family life at the time of your call.

If your call reaches an answering machine, the following hints will help the puppy referral volunteer return your call in a timely manner:

  • In your message, please include the best time of day to reach you.
  • Please leave an evening phone number as many puppy referral volunteers work full-time and are unable to return calls during the day.
  • When leaving a message, speak slowly and clearly. Include an area code with your phone number, and the town in which you live.
  • If your telephone number is long distance, your call may be returned as a collect call.
  • If your call is not returned within a week, call back. Sometimes messages get lost.

For assistance, contact Binnie Weissleder at   . Please remember that all puppy referral contacts are volunteers so call at appropriate times and be understanding if they do not return your call immediately.

HVGRC provides puppy referral as a convenience to puppy buyers to find out about breeders who are HVGRC members and their litters. HVGRC takes no responsibility whatsoever for any puppies/dogs that you may acquire through puppy referral. HVGRC is not responsible for any breeder's sale practices and sales contracts, nor will HVGRC be involved in any manner in contract disputes between puppy buyers and breeders. Availability of puppies and conditions of sale are at the sole discretion of the individual breeder. Buyers are encouraged to read http://www.grca.org for general information about obtaining a puppy, to take as much time as necessary to locate a reputable breeder from whom they feel comfortable purchasing a puppy, and to investigate breeders and their puppies thoroughly before committing to a purchase. You are not obligated to purchase a puppy from the breeders whose names you obtain from HVGRC puppy referral.
