He received his DVM from Ross University and did his clinical work at the University of Illinois. His journey began at Mt. Pleasant Hospital for Animals in 2003 working alongside Dr. Brian Silverlieb as an associate. He took ownership of the hospital in 2010. Since his leadership, Mt. Pleasant has grown to a new height of compassionate care for our patients.<\/p>\n<p>While he is particularly known for his canine reproduction and surgical expertise, Dr. Vali performs a broad spectrum of diagnostic testing and soft tissue surgery for his general practice. His extraordinary skills and intuitive powers regarding veterinary medicine and surgery have won him intense loyalty throughout the community. His practice thrives because of the unquestionable confidence and passion with which he treats each and every animal.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Vali is consistently sought out for his expert advice for various canine reproduction related issues. He has received advanced training in artificial reproduction and is certified in Trans cervical Insemination by Minitube America. He has been involved with breeding and showing Great Danes and Labradors and has many champions to his credit. His passion and talents for high quality veterinary care has awarded him the highest recognition within his profession.\u00a0 He has a number of published\u00a0articles, as well.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"plainmint\" align=\"left\"><strong>Eye Doctor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"m_8637037543556534492yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_4958\"><span class=\"name\">Dr. Brown<\/span>\u00a0received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 1992 and then performed a small animal internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City.\u00a0 He received a Master of Science degree for his biochemical study of animal tears during his residency at KSU. Dr. Brown became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 1996, when he started the ophthalmology practice in Little Falls, NJ. Dr. Brown\u2019s special interests include diseases of the cornea, corneal surgery, intraocular surgery, diseases of the retina, ophthalmic photography and the role of oxidative stress and nutrition on diseases of the eye. He has written numerous scientific papers and is a noted national lecturer throughout the country, providing veterinary ophthalmology continuing education for veterinarians and technicians. Dr. Brown consults closely with research organizations to help improve ocular health and vision in animals and people.<\/div>\n<div id=\"m_8637037543556534492yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_4960\"><span id=\"m_8637037543556534492yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_4961\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_8637037543556534492yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_4962\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"m_8637037543556534492yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_4963\">The OFA exam procedure is performed to screen the eye for evidence of heritable eye disease.\u00a0 Before the exam, the pupils are dilated with an eye drop.\u00a0 After 10-15 minutes, the eyes are ready to examine.\u00a0 Slit-lamp biomicroscopy and indirect ophthalmoscopy are techniques used to examine the eye.\u00a0 Dr. Brown will discuss any relevant findings after the exam is complete.\u00a0 An OFA form will be given to the owner indicating \u201cnormal\u201d or otherwise if findings are noted.\u00a0 Please bring your Animal ID numbers (microchip\/tattoo) and registration numbers with you to the exam to fill out on the form.<\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"plainmint\" align=\"left\"><strong>Cardiac Doctor<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<div id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_5022\"><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_5020\" class=\"name\"><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_5019\">Dr. Schrope<\/span><\/span><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_5020\"><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_5019\">\u00a0received his doctorate in veterinary medicine at the University of Minnesota in 1991. \u00a0 He then completed a small animal inter<\/span><\/span>nship as well as\u00a0a\u00a03 year cardiology<span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_5040\"><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_5039\">\u00a0residency at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. \u00a0He became board certified in cardiology in 1995.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_4971\">\n<p>Dr. Schrope started his career at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in southern New Jersey\u00a0where he was the first board certified\u00a0clinical\u00a0cardiologist\u00a0practicing\u00a0in the state. \u00a0Soon after he joined The Veterinary Referral Centre and\u00a0Cardiopet<span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_4969\"><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_4968\">\u00a0in Little Falls NJ. \u00a0In 2002 he established the cardiology department at the Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus NJ where he currently practices.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_10551\"><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_10550\">\u00a0\u00a0In addition he provides cardiology consultation to the North Shore Animal League in New York, one of the largest animal shelters in the nation.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_5046\"><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_5045\">Dr.\u00a0Schrope\u2019s\u00a0special interests include\u00a0echocardiography\u00a0as well as\u00a0<span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_10553\"><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_10552\">diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart disease\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and\u00a0interventional cardiology of which he has authored numerous scientific papers. \u00a0 He has\u00a0lectured\u00a0and instructed\u00a0in multiple venues along the east coast on topics including echocardiography, pulmonary hypertension,\u00a0<span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_5044\"><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_5043\">diagnosis and treatment of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, syncope, and congenital heart disease.<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_5052\">\n<p>Dr. Schrope will be performing auscultations and echocardiograms for OFA certification. \u00a0Neither test generally requires<span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1512684978847_7040\"><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1512684978847_7039\">\u00a0sedation or shaving although there are occasional exceptions.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>The results will be recorded on a standard OFA\u00a0form which<span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_10557\"><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_10556\">\u00a0the owner will be given a copy of<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0the results\u00a0discussed. \u00a0The\u00a0echocardiogram\u00a0<a id=\"m_-6640516040926167794__GoBack\" rel=\"nofollow\" name=\"m_-6640516040926167794__GoBack\" shape=\"rect\"><\/a><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_5050\"><span id=\"m_-6640516040926167794yiv2130108971yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511961327435_5049\">report will not extend beyond the OFA form and images of the echocardiogram will not be available<\/span><\/span>\u00a0to the owner.\u00a0The results of the auscultation and\/or echocardiogram will be submitted to the OFA at the owner\u2019s request. \u00a0Please bring your animals ID number (microchip or tattoo number) to place on the\u00a0OFA\u00a0forms.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div Jacoba Nassar\u00a0<\/span>received her DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) degree upon graduation from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada, &amp; became an associate veterinarian in private practice in Pittsburgh, PA.\u00a0 While here, exposure to a holistic approach of medicine caught her interest, &amp; she decided to pursue advanced veterinary chiropractic training to enhance her approach of optimal medicine and comprehensive quality of care.\u00a0 She received her VSMT (Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy, also known as chiropractic) certification from the Healing Oasis Wellness Center; the only nationally accredited chiropractic school in the country.\u00a0 This is an intense 226 hour post-graduate education certification program with an emphasis on functional and integrative neurology in both canine and equine patients.\u00a0 Shortly thereafter, she moved to Connecticut to be closer to extended family, and has been established as a long term associate at a full service private practice, where she practices both conventional medicine, as well as chiropractic\/applied neuroanatomy techniques.\u00a0 By integrating chiropractic
